The base game package will come with a set amount of UEC (United Earth Credits). Get 5,000 UEC free when creating a star citizen account using a referral code:

Starter Packages have the following UEC.

  • Aurora - 1,000 UEC
  • C8X Pisces - 1,000 UEC
  • Cutter - 1,000 UEC
  • Mustang - 1,000 UEC

When you use the referral code you get the original 1,000 UEC plus an additional 5,000 bonus UEC.

  • Can you play Star Citizen for free?

    A few times a year there are events known as "Free Fly." During these events you can play the game for free. Head to the download page and enter GETINTOTHEVERSE.

    The latest active free fly was Nov 18-30, 2022

  • Star Citizen has game packages starting at $45(USD) that include a ship, hangar, and 1000 UEC.

  • There is no monthly cost. All you need to do is buy a 1 time game package starting at $45(USD).

  • From time to time parts of the game data are reset back to the starting value you have in your hangar. You will retain any ships or items purchased outside of the game world and will return back to your starting UEC.

  • Star Citizen is in active development and in a technical alpha. If you love space sims and open sandbox games, you might love Star Citizen, but there are bugs and glitches that can hinder progress.

  • You need an SSD formatted NTFS with at least 80GB of space for the game install and 20GB for a page file.
